I could be wrong but I don't think it is a bug. That is actually what I would call cheating, no doubt, it would require altering codes.

Flying high level planes take 12 hours compared to flying low level planes which can be 30 minutes to 1 hour. Higher level means tougher tasks. Even drop rates are harder to come by at higher levels.
