It's weird how it works... If you leave before reset, your alliance tasks will not count for the current alliance you are in, they will lose your tasks. That happened to me last week, I had a guy that did 3 tasks, then on Saturday afternoon he left the alliance and we lost all his task. :'( If...

That was the weird thing about it, it showed I was connected and snowflakes were showing up, it was just when it went to the counter it would count then immediately revert to zero.

I had that issue from 2:30am PST until 3am PST but the issue has now resolved, reinstating from what it was before it stopped counting. Disappointed I lost some snowflakes, glad it's back now, but more concerned this will happen again.
