Does anybody actually add neighbours?

I'm currently playing on the Windows 8 version of the game, and I'm enjoying it, it's a nice game, but I have one problem which is ticking me the heck off.

A lot of missions tell me to visit neighbors to click this and that, yet every potential neighbor in the game (well, those in the list every day) never bother to add me. Is their some sort of limit to how many neighbors you can have, or am I just sending requests to, pardon my French, des gens très grossiers ou arrogants?

Those users are suggested by the game randomly, with a high chance they actually gave up playing already.
But on this forum I bet you will find a lot of active users, just take a look at the "add me" thread
I don't think there is a limit for neighbors, but there is a limit (20) for how many gifts you can send. Feel free to add as many neighbors as needed to find 20, who will actually return your gifts

Hey scorchx and welcome to the forum.

Glad to see someone else appearing that plays the Windows version of the game, hopefully (many) other will come.
greensmith and me seem to be the only ones playing the windows games at the moment. We are looking into having the same threads as Android and iPad/iPhone users have (daily gifting thread). For the moment, you can send me a PM with items you need and a list of gifts you can send.
If you can tell me your friendcode, I will be happy to add you as a Neighbour. Of course, you can also add my friendcodes (2 games): wfag9a9 and wse5x4h (they are called GRLT-WIN and GRDT-WIN).
I also have the code of Tom (aka greensmith), but he will most probably contact you too!

Oh, and to answer your question: some neighbours that you add with that function will probably accept (choose high level players). But many will not and some might stop playing after a while. Best is to get Neighbours from a place like this, they are the ones that will most probably stick around!

What I do is this.... The game gives you four new adds each hour. Because I am looking for neighbours who launch rockets I will automatically delete any player under level 40. The next thing is to work out whether those new adds are current players. So I visit their airports and look for buildings from recent quests. That is a good indication of currency. If they look current, I will tick the green box. If they don't look current or if they don't look like they do much launching, I tick the delete button. Then, because you still can't tell whether they are current or not, I give them 3-4 days to respond. If there is no response, they then get deleted. It is best to do this in batches, that way the list of those you are waiting on doesn't get too long.

I add neighbors if I recognize the name. One of my games (yes, sad that I have 5 games) has > 40 people waiting. I don't "know" them so I haven't added them. I keep them in "waiting" because of the issues of never being able to connect again. If they come here and message me, I'd add them.

People on this forum will help you out. They help lower level people out as well. Just be involved is my recommendation. Good Luck!

I play on windows, but access it via facebook. I am at Level 13 and stuck on 13 neighbours, needing at least 20 before I can make any more expansions. I gave the Windows version a try and just cannot convince myself that investing into that version is worthwhile. So I am just going to it every few days to touch base on it and have been stuck on level 4 for a couple weeks.

If anyone is interested in becoming neighbors, I'd make a more concerted effort to log in once daily to help those out. Not sure what everyone else has, but I did score F(20) and shampoo in my gifting inventory.

Are you adding random people from the "Add" tab or are you adding people from this forum? If you are adding people from this forum, I'd suggest 2 things:
1. Check the last time they have logged into the forum
2. Send them a private message telling them that you have sent a request. I have a game with 57 people waiting and I *might* recognize one name. Given that random people can hijack launches, no one wants to add random people.

If it's the "Add" tab, well, you are stuck with wondering if those people still play the game.

I can think of 3 ways to message someone:

1. Put an @ symbol in front of their name (which you did in that post). Will get you inform them they were called out in a threat (not private)
2. You can post on their profile - click on their name and I think pick profile. You should see an area to post to (not private).
3. In the upper right, you can see "Inbox". You can start a conversation with anyone from there. I believe private.

There are a few Win8 players out there I see. Most everything I could find was FB/Android related. I'm an active daily L23'ish player. I'm relatively new, so my space program is just getting started & I don't have tons of rare supplies stocked up to give. But I do send all gifts daily & don't mind working with others to get something specific accomplished.
