Originally, hacking was done "just for fun" or to show what you could do to others. We could not transfer resources to other players or sell them for real money in this game. Therefore, hacking is of no real use. It could be that GI thought there was no need to protect or encrypt the API...

Theoretically, they have full access to the games' database. Why do they need to ask such questions of a player? They could be answered with a simple SQL query. Unless the whole IT structure is compromised, of course...

Yes, based on my experience with how they have been "functioning" for almost a year now, I would support this claim. Obviously, the people who wrote the client-server architecture for this game either have poor skills and understanding of this technology or are just vibe-coding.
