I have read that other Windows users have successfully run an Android emulator to allow them to use the Android version of AC. I don't have personal experience with that, in my case I bought an iPad and never looked back.

There is no "technical reason." The sad truth is that GI is struggling to sell ad space. Advertisers have a lot of choices as to where they show their ads, and GI has to compete with other game publishers for ads. The current environment is something of a mess, with Apple's recent "privacy"...

This means that GI does not have any paying advertisers for the Windows platform. That is why I moved to an iPad. Their ad inventory for iOS is much better.

GI may be in trouble. Their iOS revenues are going to plummet with Apple's new "privacy" setting, so they should be scrambling for every nickel they can find on other platforms.

I have not had any crashes, happily. I use a 6 month-old iPad that is totally current on iOS. I play AC far more than I should every day and have not seen any pattern of crashes. Once every few days an ad times out without loading, but I restart AC and everything is just as I left it. Good luck...
