Maybe this is a "niche" game, but so is Star Trek Timelines, and their updates work just fine.

Not particularly; last time this update delay happened I did un-install the game and subsequently re-installed, thinking I would go back to my previous level. That was foolish I agree, but I asked GI to re-instate me to my previous level, which eventually they did.

If I delete Airport City from my PC and re-install the game, logically I will have to start over, right? Rather frustrating as I am on level 40.

I downloaded the game from Microsoft Store.

Rule #1- Never tick a box when you're tired! Should have ticked Windows but I didn't, and in any case why is the game telling me that all of my neighbours have updated yet I seem unable to do so.
