Its a very fine line between making something challenging and enjoyable. Unfortunately I think GI have hit neither of those and just made this event impossible for the great majority.

The quests never used to be this difficult before. Back then yes they were challenging, but also enjoyable at the same time.

If your going to make an event very difficult that requires checking back into the game numerous times a day and using vast quantities of fuel, then make the prize something very worth while - Like a bank/casino. With an end prize like that, people would understand if only 2/100 people managed to complete it.
You should play Age of Ash event, this one is much easier compares to AoA. AoA was the hardest event ever!

Now i am getting 2-3 drops from plane on every 8 planes that landing, Sky Captain and Spy Glass enabled. Without bonuses, drops are rare, about one on every 20-30 flights. Yes, it is challeging.
As reward i would expect any type of building, that increase the passengers in Terminal, and not population only. But that is other story...

Yes, this quest is challenging, but nothing like "Age of Ash" which was almost impossible.

GI now structure its game so that:
(i) early upgraders get an advantage,
(ii) as the dateline approaches, they make it more expensive to fly / speed up planes,
(iii) it is necessary to spend greenies to buy at least a few Spyglasses, if you even hope to complete the quest.

But I think GI are also alternating an easy quest, followed by a relatively hard quest.

I agree with you Dave. This quest was boarderline to start and when the fuel consumption changes halfway through the event it become almost impossible.
It has almost unpleasant to have to check the game so often to 'service' planes or check for snow globes.

There will be a lot of people who will have 80-90% of the quest completed and nothing to show for their effort.

I agree on the Santa Bad Mood without the Spy Glass and Spy Captain enabled or just plain spending greenies, this event could drain a massive stock pile of fuel in a hurry just to learn your not going to complete the event. I also noticed that planes break down more often and most of my fleet now requires greenies to speed up repair which I'm not going to fall for that. What I like to do is just make the flight to earn stars and not focus on completing the event.

No globe drops in 48 hrs :rage::banghead::arghh::grumpy: (8,3,5,4,9)

(No cloud drops either !!!)
Green belt & Into the White were easily completed with spyglass. But I'm lucky if I get 1 snow globe a day, even with spyglass.:mad::mad: Unless GI makes the drops more frequent during the last days, no way will I finish.

Yeah - no cloud drops either. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I have completed this event with Spy Glass and Sky Captain active almost whole day, Plenty of fuel used to keep Planes flying(S3).
I know many cannot afford activating Spy Glass but Events standards have been raised and now completing them is actually tough. You need to actually prepare before event comes and sufficient time has to be given to complete the event's.
Although I would love to have Rewards with more productive uses like Age of Ash Event reward.
I am personally happy with these kinds of event since at my level, I like to complete these kinds of hard events, in past event's were easy to complete.

Damn true.....

I would call it almost impossible without Spy Glass. Without that it would likely take a huge investment
of time and fuel. I bought 5 Spy Glass and easily finished the first 2 collections during their active period.
I now only need 1 polar bell, 1 arctic fox and 1 snowy owl to complete. So if you were prepared (I wasn't hence bought
the SG) this event would be classified not that difficult by me. This includes the 3 days windows
players were screwed out of destination flights for normal fuel cost. I know the previous Christmas
events had far more to do though they were not as dependent on using bonuses.

This is more doable to complete than Age of Ash. AofA was virtually impossible. I did not complete it because I refused to buy the chests they were selling.
I actually had to complete AoA twice as after i finish it first time, my game reseted back to the beginning of event. This time I lose 3 days waiting for update and 5 days due to game reset to level 1.
Maybe I should skip the events :)

If I remember, during the AoA event, windows players had better drops. That or maybe I just really suck at this game.

I then never did a single launch without bonuses and used only small planes with instant return. But drop rates were very bad for me also.
@Kesh I think GI is pushing toward a game that you have to pay to play, I noticed this when the last update had those greenie nabbing pop outs while you were gathering money and passengers from your city. The popups already stole 8 greenies from me, now I just make sure I plug my building toward the top of the screen.

I clear 40 odd drifts a day and have completed the Green Belt task just once, although I get enough warm drinks for flights. I've completed around 50 event flights and not had a single drop for the Into the White collection. I used one sky captain bonus, but that was the only bonus I had. There really seems little point in hoping to complete this but I will t carry on just to earn the stars for the event flights I have started. First event I had thought I might have a go at completing. Wish I hadn't bothered now. Missed all the regular pick-ups by clicking on snow drifts when visiting. There's no fun in this.

You really need to buy a Spy Glass, then land as many flights as possible within 6 hours, visit neighbours' snow drift, click on your own snow drifts, speed up planes etc.

Without buying a few Spy Glasses, it is probably unlikely you will complete the quest.

Ok, bought a spy glass. Not sure how many flights I can push through in 6 hours though. 150% of the chance of a drop when its 0% is still 0% though. I'm thinking I'll only get one or two and end up having to buy greenies. Thanks for the advice though, we'll see what happens.
