General Migrating games from IOS to Win10

Hi all

With the news of the next big update I am looking at moving my support game from my iPhone to a Win10 laptop.

I have a couple of questions on moving the game over -

Do I start a new game on Win10, get to level 3 so I have a game codefor support to move the game too?

If I get the game moved over do I need to send out new invites to all my neighbours as Win10 use codes and not the game name

Has anyone done this and are there any other problems that I need to overcome before I do it

That's what I'm trying to find out - I have read that it can be done by raising a ticket but I just wanted to see if anyone had done it

My support games are all new so only have 30 - 40 neighbors- I started new games on Jan 1st as my old support games kept crashing

If I have to re add all neighbours it's no big deal but if someone has many neighbors then it will take them a long time so that's why I posted - to find out and to help others as I guess many will want to switch soon with the news we got about the next possible big update and problems with multiple IOS games

I've had no reply yet but the reply you got is what I'm expecting as GI constantly tell us games cannot be sync' across iPad/iPhone etc due to the incompatibility of the games structures.

After a few good months I am sadly starting to fear the worse for this game again. The developers are removing the ability to have support games on same platforms - support is not able ( or willing ) to help.

It seems as though the developers are doing all in their power to force people to spend actual cash on the game - look at the casino, bank, mint situation. Those that have them get a huge advantage, those of us who don't have them cannot even try to play at the same level without spending big sums of money on greens. Using support games gives us a tiny extra bit to help us with the game.

Free2Play - you mention that it's possible but support say otherwise, is migrating from one platform to another something that you are working on.

I'm thinking of creating extra Apple ID s. I know that the only thing you can't do when using a different ID on your Apple device is updates and purchases. So I can still run my iOS devices on my normal id but switch when doing the above, then switch back. You still can't have more than one game per device, though. GI techs said I could merge 2 iOS games together so hopefully my 5 will become 3. 2 iPads and a phone. They will transfer purchases but not sure what else yet.

Well you can actually make a new Apple ID and sign in on game center only with the new Apple ID leaving other parts like app store and iCloud on your regular ID.

Just figured this out yesterday though so don't know yet if this will be enough to get around the coming changes but apple sees this as different accounts and a legitimate way to use the accounts so I don't see why it shouldn't work.

For myself I still want to move my support game if it's possible though as I want to retire my slow iPad mini but might be useful for others.

I migrated my game from WindowsPhone to Android.
While the migration process of the game was smooth the neighbour list part wasn't.

After the migration my neighbour list was empty so I added about 100+ accounts from here. After a couple of days the support added my old neighbours. But it didn't work properly. While I had them as neighbours and was able to visit them and join their launches etc., they didn't have my migrated game but rather the old, now defunct, game. Which meant they couldn't visit me, join my launches etc. And of course my gifts never made it to their games and their gifts went to my old, defunct game.
In the end I deleted all the non-forum members and which were affected by that issue because the support couldn't help with that issue.

So if you want to keep someone you need their code to add it after the migration. Maybe it's better to wait until there is some sort of chat function so you could ask people for their codes if you really want to have them as neighbour again. Or just hope they'll be 1 of the 5 hourly ramdom neighbours and then accept you new request.

Yes I know I have to raise a support ticket - sorry I did not make it clear that What I meant was - after I have raised the support ticket and the game has been transferred do I have to re add all my neighbors as I'm transferring over different platforms.
I transfered my game at Christmas time...from Windows phone to android....my price was loosing all my neighbors and my own little alliance...I hope, you haven't to pay the same price...
I had luck, through the forum I got nice neighbors and I am member of a very nice alliance now.

Good luck

Greetings

2 weeks later I finally get an answer from Mary in support, my game is moved from ios to Android, all but neighbors but I can live with that :D

Make sure you reference the post from free2play and the thread I posted above, that seems to be what made something happen in the end but Yea here is confirmation it does work (y)
