The mayor of your city decided to sum up the results of the outgoing year and to take a census of population. He really wanted to know how many people populate the city, so this year he asked the agents to be especially thorough and to come over not only the residential houses, but the working places of the citizens as well. The data received turned out to be pretty interesting: it became apparent that many people in the Airport City are so hard-working and dedicated to their jobs, that they actually live at their working places and consider the commercial establishments of the city their homes!

The mayor was so pleased to see the result like this, that he ordained a law, according to which all the commercial buildings will from now on be the part of such procedures in the future, and this became a new game feature as well.

Now if you want to build a new building, but the population level is out-of-limit high, you should demolish one of the older constructions first. It will lower the population level and you will get the permission to construct a new building right away!

Also very soon you will get an opportunity to upgrade the main building to level 8, and your Aiport City will become a hospitable home to even more citizens!

I hope you will appreciate the true value of the changes integrated into the game. Thank you for being our player

So Red Fox One is offcially right!! (y)

flip123, it's not a good idea to build to the max, because if the new quest require you to build a new building, you have to demolish your buildings anyway, for instance in the Xmas quest you need to build the Skating Rink. This is the dilemma Suresh is having.

The best thing to do is to complete as many Ancient World collection as possible, as each Pyramid / Colosseum / Temple / Stonehenge increase max population by 50.

I guess an issue which many like me will have is that we haven't finished the ancient world quests. Now to complete the santas quests the city needs to be nearly demolished. I now do not have enough buildings to provide passengers for the ancients world etc quests and can now not even fill 4 jumbos. The game has been ruined and it feels like I've been robbed of the real cash I invested.

Hi Bali Hi,

I already have that problem on android:
-If I build a skating ring I have to demolish half my city, then I don't have passengers to fly for anchient world or I don't have the coins to buy the maps (still have to upgrade townhall). Practically, this means Game Over.... I am doing the quest, when I can finish the quest with everything I have in store, I have won the quest even though I don't have the building to show for, BUT I can still try Ancient Worlds and increase population in the future and do future quests...

On IPhone and IPad I would have to demolish half the city. Have to pay 1 greenies for a terrible droprate of maps (duke is blocked for many players) to fly anchient Worlds.... I think I would quit completely on IPhone and IPad as I am already thinking about it because of the blocking of duke... The quests made the difference so far and they also make that impossible.

For me at this point, a reward building is not worth to demolish half my city and block normall play in the future.

Could you ask your managers to actually look in to this new population matter and read the forums. You will be loosing many players. There is a serious feeling of unrest from us, your customers, who are being let down by GI by introducing new ideas without notice or asking for players thoughts on issues such as this. Both my partner and myself have purchased credits for this game and we, like many many players, feel as though we have been robbed by you. I can assure you feelings are running very high amongst your customers.

lol it's kinda lame how gi tries to explain it. Anyway, now we just need to be patient a little bit.
"Also very soon you will get an opportunity to upgrade the main building to level 8"
Don't let your rage consume you too much :D or probably I've been too used to gi's antics?

It seems I'm not the only one with problems!

I am playing the Santa quest on my phone game HH2, thanks to all for sending what I need to build the hangers.
However I have not got the skating rink but can't build, can't afford to update my town hall.
Its a shame as its taken the entire pleasure of playing this quest.

I was looking forward to playing on ipad but it automatically updated, guess many others are stuck :arghh:

Why are we still playing this game? They can't even give us a real response, they give us some idiotic role-play style answer trying to "immerse" us into the game? As others have said, not going to demolish half my city just to accommodate new buildings. What's the point of being able to expand out as much as we can if we don't even have a population to use? At this point, they'd have to bump the population limit up to 3000-4000 and if they don't with the Town Hall lvl 8 we'll still be stuck with demolishing our current buildings.

Yea I'm going to deliberately fail this mission so that I can keep my buildings a bit longer, don't think the reward building is particularly good anyway is it? Other than perhaps giving you a slight pop boost, which is obviously more important now!

The reward for this year's Santa mission is Ice Hotel (my game auto completed the mission after last update), which only gives Coins, don't think it actually increased the Population, anybody else noticed Population change for getting the Ice Hotel?
Yes, me. My city population goes up from 1580 to 1600 (y)

As it was described under reward:

Well, that's it then. I will not complete this mission because I do not want to demolish buildings. If I demolish residences, then I won't have enough passengers. If I demolish commercial buildings, I won't get enough coins which I need for buying & selling planes. This is going to be a stalemate and players will lose interest. Instead of gifting your players with land expansions, you've limited our population.

Seriously, GI??? You never fail to deliver failure. Get your act together.

Most people know my feelings about this issue and the creation of over built cities.
I did not have a major problem in deleting buildings, I destroyed mostly low yielding passenger buildings, about 10 1x1 and commercial buildings. I did not have a dense city and I can tell you that it is possible to do the Ancients missions without lots of passenger buildings.
I suggest we just all take a breath a develop strategies to deal with the limitations. It took me a while to figure out how to best fly 9 Jumbos and that is part of the fun/strategy of this game otherwise it can become too easy and repetitive.
Play the game at your own pace, it is only the time limited special quests, which unfortunately is becoming more a repeat of previous years, and you will enjoy or be challenged by this game again.:)

I like your take on this, Blackcloud. I know many people don't like the idea, but the road and town hall would become a moot point of the game if gi doesn't do this. Also the +20 reward buildings. Not that i really support it, in fact I'm neutral about it since gi is the maker of the game. I know commercial buildings do have population from when i started playing, but again as i said gi didn't enforce that part of the game before. Gi suddenly enforces it now and gi can't blame people for getting angry about it. :)
