Curse of the Valley of the Kings Quest

From now on, I simply will not participate in events that require drops from buildings any longer....not until they do one of the following:
-improve building drop rates
-provide bonus items for improving drop rates from buildings at a reasonable price
It's just not worth the resources anymore. I hope Ivan reads this and gets a sudden urge to voice this to them
Don't generalize :) Back to school event was perfectly doable despite you needed two collections from building drops.
Well, since I rejoined the game last winter I didn't fail on event despite I had only very few repeated events. Surely it will happen sooner or later but... :) I had few events however where I was not able to max out the event results - mainly I didn't get max number of buildings if that relied on building drops. So I also would love to see a special bonus, increasing the building drop rates.

Of the top of my head there are 90 -100 possible adventure buildings, that’s 90 -100 collection items per day that just drop into your lap.

The whole game is about working at it, I’ve got some items in hundreds I’ve got one or two of others, that’s they way it goes. If I need Osc beacons I fly multiples on that flight, some drop some don’t that’s how the game plays so I just get on with it.

Adventure buildings are the key to building collections
I respect your views. Funny enough, I never fail events because of lack of resources. I always fail them because of lack of luck with the bad drop rates...usually from buildings. That is the only gripe I have really. Oh well...just have to give it a whirl again next year.

Everyone is playing the same game, we all have the same drop rates but I probably visited my vaults a lot more that you did as I have over 2000 passenger limit and I can fly more to use up the possessed passenger and that was all down to the stuff I had in stock.

I also had the vaults from the start as I had 6 in stock and plenty of slabs from last time.

My drop rates are exactly the same as everyone else’s

Yeah I didnt do that event. I only do events where the reward would be used in my city, so I can only spoke on events I did. The Valentines Day and It Came From Outer space events were prime examples of tough events that are doable within the time frame, given youre committed to it....based on my experience anyway. To each his own

Low drop rates equate to lack of resources. Resources can include bonuses, greenies, etc. No, you don’t have to buy them. If you’ve been playing for around 18 months (just 15 for me) then you’d have done plenty of red launches, collected lots of gold tokens and bought CBM. All part of the resources.

True drop rates are supposedly the same, but let me run a thought by you. So we know that even within a collection that has a labeled drop rate for all items, there is always one item that is rarer than the other four, right? Also, those "super rare" items are different dependent on the player. If it's possible for drop rates to vary from game to game on that level, who is to say that the drop rates for all collections from one game may not be slightly different between games? I'm not saying that it's so, but I've heard on many occasions some players not needing bonus items to finish collections, while others still struggle....even after using items. Bottom line is that even though our drop rates are supposedly the same "very seldom", I think that there is enough variation between games in term of drop rates to make the outcome different from player to player. There is a reason why G! wouldnt tell me the exact percentage of "very seldom".

Greenies aren't what I'm referring to. The only difference is whether you get greenies for free or buy...I'm ok with that. Having greenies allow you to buy bonus items to improve flight drop rates. However, how would greenies improve your building drop rates? None of the bonus items you purchase for greenies will help with that. The only way you can improve your odds is based on what @Ddave1 said....have a huge terminal, and have as many flights going out every two hours to match your inflow of possessed passengers per hour from 6 vaults...oh and timing it by the hour as some players did. In that regard, your odds will improve.

Yes, that’s how games are programmed.

We all have the Same drop rates but some items drop differently between players that’s down to the logarithm based software. That ensures that every player gets a different experience, if everyone got the same items dropping the game would be rubbish. The rates of drops are the same but the actual items that we each receive are different and yes one of those will be more difficult than the rest, that’s the same on all games and how software programmers work with logarithm,s

The reason they won’t tell you a specific drop rate is not because they are hiding something, it’s not a huge conspiracy, if they told u an item was going to drop once in 30 then it didn’t you would be complaining like mad.

I’m no way a GI fan, they have screwed many things up but games are designed to be different for us all going back to the dawn of computer gaming ( which I think I was about for :ROFLMAO:)

No youre right, and never thought of you as a GI fan. Just an in depth discussion of the game....no harm in that.

I was probably being more general about all events rather than just this one. As I said, I can’t get it done either! But I just saw SS1 on level 60, 130 stars post on the other thread for the completion award. Now I AM frustrated, lol.

Lol now you know what I mean. Guess the other way to finish the event is to burn through a lot of fuel to control the possessed pax population (which I had to do), but you have to draw the line somewhere.

I think a perfect example of a fair building drop is the treadmill collection from stonecastle. I have a rare item of course, but it drops frequently enough that it isn't absolutely depressing. They should make event building drops along the same lines.

Hi,

I have read with interest the comments made above and can contribute my two penny's worth.

This is where I am at

I collected 10 Lords of The Nile and the distribution shows how one item is very rare !

However, given that I collected 10 means that I flew sufficient flights and therefore opened a lot of vaults. However obviously not enough. I have collected 3 Whispers in the Walls and have been waiting for eight days now for a Film Camera or two to drop. Depressing :(

Harcourt

I’m exactly where you are. Only 2 cameras needed and no joy.

What's interesting is that you probably flew way more flights than I did, but we ended up with the same total count of the Lord Of The Nile collection, and you only have one more Phantom Wall collection than me. Just goes to show that the experience can vary widely regardless of effort.
