Hi to all (greensmith, Gt city, Rsorour, Puppy Chou, etc).
One important question.
In these last days I had big problems with the drop from the flight (for example I need one object to complete the Iceland building but I continue to send the plane to this destination and I gain nothing o something different, very rarely, not useful).
And it's the same for different destination (Delhi, Berlin, Hawaii, etc).
And, probably it's only random, the night flight (the flight that I start in the evening) 99,9% of times drop nothing in the following morning.
Is there any strategy about the order of flight that I have to follow (I have a lot of mission pending, refer Powerful Delta, Jumbo, Giant Plane)?
Any suggestion/help is welcome expecially from very skilled player like greensmith.....

Thanks to all!!!!

The answer of GI will be: If you fly long enough to the location, the wanted item will drop eventually.....
You can increase chances with dice, spyglass etc.... but a lot is luck

Here's how you maximise that Spy Glass / Dice / Golden Dice.
  • Before you go to sleep, make sure you fly all your planes to the destination you need the item to drop.
  • When you wake up and ready to play, do not click on the incoming plane yet!
  • Collect fuel & passengers, then activate the Spy Glass / Dice / Golden Dice (good for 6 hours)
  • All planes on the runway and coming to land are now subject to extra chance of item drops.
  • After collecting all items, start flying your planes like crazy for the next 6 hours.
  • Take note of the flight times, so that the planes can make as many flights as possible within the 6 hour period.
  • Use your Fuel Catalysts strategically to speed up planes
  • For the last 1 hour or so, you may want to speed up some of the planes that won't make the dateline, using Fuel(20).
Depending on the number of planes, destination and flight duration, fuel catalyst & Fuel(20) you have, you can easily make 12 - 30 flights, all with higher chance of drops.

Massimo4256,
The only advice I can give that wasn't covered by flip123 and Bali Hi is the difference among the Spy Glass, Dice and Golden Dice bonuses. Here is my interpretation:
Spy Glass
"This bonus increases the chance of quest item drop (both common and collectible) by 150% for 6 hours."
Quests are the icons that occasionally appear on the left side of the screen. Sometimes they are main quests, like the recent "The Great Game" and "American" quests. At times, there are subquests that appear that walk you step by step through the main quest. Using a Spy Glass bonus increases the chance of drops from flights that are part of these quests.
Dice
"This bonus doubles the chance of item drop from a flight (excluding quest and collectible items) for 6 hours."
If you fly to an Excavations destination trying to get a Map Chest drop, a Dice bonus will help. Or, if you fly to Iceland trying to get a Deicer drop, a Dice bonus will help.
Golden Dice
"Increases the chance of a collectible item drop from a flight (excluding quest items) by 150% for 6 hours."
Collectibles are items that appear in the Collections tab. I recently flew Giants to the five Tale of Bygone Years destinations -- Kyiv, Novgorod, Murom, Smolensk and Chernihiv -- to earn a Winter Palace. I used Golden Dice to increase my chances of drops of the items necessary to complete that collection. I posted my results in this thread: https://www.airportcitygame.com/index.php?threads/tale-of-bygone-years-collection.5715/
The bottom line was that when I used Golden Dice, I got an average of twice the drops that I got when I did not use Golden Dice.
If you have the patience and the time, you will get the drops eventually. Yes, it is totally random. Or you can spend a few greenies and get them sooner.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Tom

Tom you answered my question I was thinking whilst driving home from work.
Map quest destinations - dice are best
What is you opinion on captain super bonus?
I am not sure if this does give much of a bonus, I have 11 in stock

Neil ellor and Brexter,
I believe the Sky Captain bonus is best for earning more money and experience. I've never found it to increase item drops. In fact, a while ago I did a test where I first used a Spy Glass, then a Spy Glass plus Sky Captain. I actually got more item drops with just the Spy Glass. Of course it is all random.
Cheers,
Tom

Tom yes I think I agree on established games the captain super bonus is not a real advantage
The best advice I have received is about the dice.
My banned game Captain tneil is having to use greenies to fly to the map destinations, thanks to a Casino, but I have 15!!! Dice sitting there doing nothing.
With Bali Hi giving a secret away about the planes waiting to land I am sure I might get a bonus in the morning
And I like your quote 'The only advice' I thought you were writing your next book LOL

I agree with Tom, I don't think the Sky Captain helps with drops at all. When I was trying for Stonehenge, I tried various bonus combinations and never had any luck with the Sky Captain Bonus. Honestly, I had just as much luck with no bonus as I did with the Dice or Golden Dice bonuses when flying to the excavation locations.

Hello all, would anyone know which bonus to use that will increase the drop rate when you visit your neighbors ? I had a Sky Captain in place and this yielded up to 8 items on a planetarium!! Would the spy glass or with of the dice help? PS after reading the above and activating a Golden Dice I completed an Atlas collection in 9 flights, so luck or the use thereof???!!!

pegasus,
Yes, Sky Captain is good for that.
Here is my interpretation of the other three:
Spy Glass
"This bonus increases the chance of quest item drop (both common and collectible) by 150% for 6 hours."

My little contribution:
I spent a golden dice to get items from sacramento (16 flights 1 single drop); I tried last week without any "help bonus" 10 flights 1 single drop.
I think the golden dice doesn't give the same benefits in all destinations. What is sure is that the golden dice increase a lot the items when you visit the neighbours (at least the space items)

The spy glasses: no much improvements for me. I usually use them together with golden dice, I am not sure that it really improves, the drops but I feel less desperated.

The capitan bonus: only for the money. I had the impression that it was helping the drops in the past, but not anymore.

javi thanks re the space items dropping from neighbors on the golden dice, was using both dice for this on last visits, will just use the one. Re flight drops, it yielded what I needed for Tollan and Carthage flights, so will stick with it. Any bit helps :)

Today I tried to fly to Murom. In 36(!!!!!) flights with golden dice I only got 2(!!) drops...

How is that possible?? You can imagine what I spend on passengers and fuel + greens to fly 36 Giants..
And it is my only map...

Lately I tried for the first time and got only 1 drop out of 12. So I was really surprised because usually I got way more items. But because it was my only map and all my Giants got broken(5 Giants) I tried to fly to Excavation maps again to get the Murom map again. Now I've 1 drop out of 24.... What is happening here?

You won't believe this... because it is my only map I had to to everything I could do to get the items. In the last 20 minutes of the map I got 4(!) items out of the last 8 flights. I still have a low droprate but from 2/36 it went to 6/44.
