Mechanical Plant: neighbor still showing after clicking

One of my neighbor's clicked on my mechanical plants and even though I click on them, their icon still stays until I close and reopen the game.

The only way that I have found is to visit Madlen and if that doesn't work then close and re-open the game.

Sometimes by producing an item and when there are no additional items in the cue, the cargo box will pop up. Sometimes this works too.
