@rocky I'm sure this is intentional to rob us of our hard earned greenies.

It will never happen but I'd like to see the pop-ups go away. Crocker brings in an airship and puts an icon on the left corner of the screen - no popup needed. I can buy from Maddy through my warehouse if I need her items. For special events - maybe put an icon on the top or bottom of the event window.

And NO, I don't want to download Big Country or any other G! game (unless you're giving me 4 greenies to do it).

Hmmm, maybe I should invent an app to stop them?

I lost count how many times I lost greenies by tapping on them accidentally. One time, I lost 18 greenies in one tap. Not only were they hard-earned. There were times I paid real money for them. Yep, real life paying customer here.

We live with them scamming our greens away only because they give us 3 free greens per week.
Without this free stuff I think a lawsuit would be already under way.

I don't mind the pop-ups. But they should insert a confirmation dialogue when it comes to greenies...

I agree that the pop-ups are annoying. I have also been tap-tap-tapping away only to buy something I didn't particularly want when a pop-up appeared.
But I also understand that GI has to make money; otherwise they'd stop updating their games.
What about an annual fee for a game without advertising? I'd pay $9.99 annually for an AC game like that.
This would be similar to the annual fee many of us forum members pay for VIP status to eliminate the ads and give the forum owner a little income to outset some of the expense.

Making money is one thing - tricking people or making it easy for them to accidently spend it without a chance of a refund is entirely different and is why (along with the poor customer service and false accusations of cheating) I do not and will not recommend ANY GI game. If I didn't have so much real money vested in this game, I would have stopped playing it just because of the false accusations of cheating when their buggy software claims I'm a "time traveler". Also 300 plane flights with golden dice + spyglass and only getting five items - they are trying to force people to spend greenies just to get a few items from their planes - they are losing more customers than they are bringing in money from their scam the customer garbage they are pulling. The events are designed for them to make money with little chance of completing it unless you do. GI is one of the most unethical game companies I've ever seen.

It would be great paying an annual payment to stop the ads from popping up but I really can't see GI going down that route,

1. They make a small fortune from players who have accidentally pressed the pop up & used greenies

2. I haven't heard of any players who have received a refund / greenies back for accidental purchase

After I "bought" something I didn't necessarily want, I took steps to eliminate accidental purchases:

1. When I open the game, I don't tap until the splash screens have appeared and have been closed.
2. I also wait when returning to my city after visiting neighbors. A splash screen always pops up.
3. I have to control my urge to tap the screen quickly to pick up coins or passengers. I tap slowly now.
4. I try never to tap anything near the center of the screen ... just in case. I always scroll the screen so I tap on the periphery.

These steps are difficult for me because I'm the impatient type. But I haven't "bought" anything accidentally since. In a perfect world/game, these steps wouldn't be necessary.

I find that when sending off planes the repair slot screen pops up when
refuelling or loading passengers, easiest way to waste your greenies.

I just discovered that if your phone/computer has no access to the internet, via wifi/ethernet/cell tower, the popups don't appear! What I do now is play the game on my Android with no internet access most of the time, and use wifi once or twice a day for those activities that require internet access. 100% guarantee of no popups (well, almost).
