Planned Server Downtime This Week

Hi,
we're moving game servers to a cloud-based solution either this Wednesday or Thursday. This is a one-time procedure to provide more stability and expand our options for future server-related features.

The best-case scenario: the downtime will last only a few hours. The worst-case scenario: it will take a whole day, or more.

During that time you'll not be able to use any social features of the game: visiting neighbors, sending and accepting gifts, none of the ratings will register your flights, spaceships will be grounded. There'll be an in-game warning about maintenance, too. Sending a spaceship will be possible either until today's evening or until tomorrow (so that all of them happily return in 24 hours).

Yes, there’ll be an in game message “maintenance in progress”.

I wonder if we should ask for a one hour warning, a 5 minute warning and a 10 second “better get it launched” version as well.

Well I was more asking for a heads up on either Tuesday or Wednesday, instead of running into the "Down For Maintenance" brick wall when it begins. As you said....fail to prepare, prepare to fail

Hmmm - I, too, get the Maintenance in Progress popup with launches, but I can still accept gifts. Won't try landing any planes - don't want to take a chance on flights not registering.

Meanwhile I think I shall use my fleet for space destinations whilst servers are down. I am an avid planetarium raider. Need to get those launch boxes somehow... 🤞

If you read what ivan said..... launches will stop so those in the air have 24 hours to land. So yes no space launches, but the rest will stop probably in 20hrs time!

I did read what he said. "During that time..." (tuesday or wednesday). There was no indication that anything would start before then.
