Number of flights for Alliance tasks determined

Hi all! I am pretty sure I have figured out how the number of flights per Alliance task is determined.

The first set of graphs below shows that the number of flights is determined based on total fuel required for the flights and your experience level. As you increase in experience level, the total fuel required increases in a non-linear fashion before reaching a maximum at level 80. This is not dependent on what plane type you have.

The second set of graphs is then an estimation of the number of flights you will be assigned per task, based on your experience level and plane type. Error bars are ranges because some plane types have a range of fuel required per destination.

I have validated this with 2 weeks of data from my alliance, and have posted it with permission my my alliance leader.
Please let me know if you have questions or suggestions. I would love to see if this data is validated in your own alliance tasks. Happy flying! :)

What a nice graph! This is very useful info....

@Dave Will it be feasible to add these to “wiki useful information” ? ;)

Need to prove they are right first. There are already tables with flight numbers on which is kept discreetly out of view. This is GI info and personally not convinced it should be open view. They will just simply change their algorithms if they think the players know more than they do.

Good point, haven’t thought of that. Never mind

I was just thinking the other day about collecting data to figure out the amount of flights for the weekly tasks, and not only did you beat me to the punch, you also found a variable that I wasn't even thinking of...fuel. It explains why that 3rd task is pretty much impossible to do without burning lots of fuel. Thank you very much for such fine work.

The only question I have has to do with the 2nd plot. Why do all planes have plots throughout the entire game level spectrum? I'm assuming you're extrapolating some data here, as you cant fly condors before lv 71, thunderbirds before lv 61, etc.

Ha! You are correct! I didn't even think of that! This is why scientists do peer-review :) Thanks!

What is known: Total fuel per task, based on player level. (These data are best fit with quadratic equations, by the way.)
What is calculated: Number of flights required based on fuel per flight.
How it was verified so far: Calculated for 1 week, then checked with second week of data (including data from one player's second alliance).

I posted this information solely so people could do a bit of planning for what planes they want for each task, and to know what happens when you go up in levels or plane types as you progress throughout the game.

It's brilliant, and even though more proof is always welcome, that trend is too obvious to ignore. It also explains why the first task is reasonable for everyone but most people avoid the 3rd task like the plague. The biggest benefit to all of this is that players can now decide if their fuel income can match the expense required by completing these tasks. It switches focus back to the fuel as the driving metric
