I’ve noticed that within this new forum version, you can do as follows, to delete an unpublished post:
1. Mark and delete all text
2. If the icons on the top of your message are greyed, tap the gear icon on the right to enable them
3. Tap the floppy disk at the left of the gear icon
4. Select “delete draft”
I tried without step 1 but unsuccessfully
