icon on left is for your personal current alliance flights which change every week. Buttons at the bottom are for info about your alliance, members and flight numbers. Two completely different aspects of alliances. More cumbersome to put it all together. IMHO

I see the benefits in both approaches. On the one hand, it would free up some screen space to see your city. On the other hand, you lose the one-tap convenience of the most used information. In the long run, it will probably not give you the result that you are looking for here.

When a player wishes to inspect the current progress of his/her alliance, one have to visit both places. Totally not efficient
