I think with helium you need connect with USB at least once. I don't know if you can root your device without USB connectivity, if you can then titanium backup is your best bet, I have it upload to Dropbox daily.
It's not good. And yes, I can't root my phone too.
Pity. I get used to crashed USB/charger slot. I don't use it. I upload/download files through Dropbox and I have two batteries + external charger. But now it looks it is a problem.
Unless anyone have an idea how to backup game without using USB.

I notice on my daily visits you've been really been hitting those map destinations @paulkate I presume that's for the gold tokens, been revisiting them myself but you seem to be steaming through.
Well yes, I was saving maps and fuel for over a year. Lately I was flying a lot with golden dice and I got some new buildings, tokens and stars.

you can email the folder containing the game to another computer and you can also email it to the device if something happens.
It is also saved on devices online back up. I know Andriod has it backed up online but I am not sure of IOS.

So are you saying if I am getting a new (Android) phone, I can simply re-download the application, sign in, and it will have my game saved already? I need to do nothing more? Sounds simple...I hope this is how it is!

Thanks!

It's not as simple as that. You also actually have to restore the airport city file with the helium app on yr new phone. And even than it might not work, as Mel has already written in this thread. For me helium works best while I'm playing on the same device. Once in a while I have restored my game when there was a crash. When changing devices, I would normally get G! support involved. they have a procedure to restore yr game when changing devices.

You use this backup method at your own risk. Please ensure you do a practice run first. Make sure you have read all the comments in the thread below.

This is a quick guide on how to backup and restore your game and data from Airport City. This is especially useful if you're changing to a new Android device, or simply because you wish to keep a backup incase anything happens.

Please note, this backup process does not require your device to be rooted - So anyone can use it!

1) Download Helium from the Google Play Store and install.
2) Download the Helium PC application and install.
3) Once installed and connected to your PC, on the Android device, within the Helium app click on the 3 dots in the top right which will bring up a pop up. Click on PC Download.

4) This will then show you a page with an address which you will need to use to navigate to on your PC. Type this address into the PC your Android device is connected to.
View attachment 1333

5) You should now be looking at a screen like the one below. This will list all the apps currently on your device. Simply click on Airport City and then click on "Start Backup". Make sure "Backup App Data Only" is not ticked.

A pop up box will appear asking you to save "backup.zip" - Save this somewhere safe on your PC as this contains your backup.

Job done! You now have a backup of Airport City and your game progress!

Good piece of information as my tablet needs to be replaced for a new one. What size SD card do you need ?

I have accidentally deleted my game and reinstalled from google play store a couple of times.
Sadly the last reinstall hit me with L100/
On android game saves to Google cloud.
If deleted or using a new device.
**Login to Google Play Game**
Use the same credentials as old phone if installing on new device.
1. Install AC
2. Play to level 3 (end of tutorial)
3. Now receive option to continue new game or restore backup from cloud.
4. I advice to always visit Madlen before closing/exiting game to save progress to server

All the best & happy flying
